Choosing Your Tool: Marking Metal

Stamping your brand on metal products can be done with our custom steel punches.

▶︎ The standard engraving depth is 1.0–1.5 mm. This allows for greater finesse, ensures good stability during striking, and prevents the engraving from breaking if struck too hard, as the bottom of the engraving absorbs the shock.

You can choose deeper engravings up to 3 mm, especially for softer metals.

▶︎ The quenching and tempering process, which we systematically perform after engraving, provides optimal strength and durability.

▶︎ We use the wireframe method. If your graphic is a square, we do not engrave the entire surface of the square (which would require a lot of force and could break the punch), but rather we engrave its outline.

NEW: Master or Responsibility Punches, minimum graphic size 4 mm, engraving depth 0.2 mm. The price includes a brief, allowing us to propose 3 achievable designs for you to submit to Customs for approval. A model intended for the inside of rings is also possible.

▶︎ For “soft” metals: gold, silver, brass, aluminum… cold striking can be done up to 20 mm in size without much difficulty.

Quenching and tempering, which we systematically perform after engraving, provide optimal strength and durability.

▶︎ We test the tempered punches on aluminum/brass and, according to indications, on stainless steel with cold striking.

▶︎ For other steels, especially in cutlery, we recommend hot striking on the workpiece, straight from the furnace and before tempering.

▶︎ If marking with a hydraulic press, be careful not to leave the punch in contact with the hot piece for too long—this could anneal it and reduce its resistance.
